“Universal Signs” with Anthony Natale and Margo Kidder

All deaf characters are played by deaf actors in this silent movie, including Antone Natale and Deanne Bray, being distributed through film festivals.

Universal Signs is a modern silent film about the redemption of the human spirit through the vital connection between people. In an approach unlike any other film, Universal Signs is primarily told through American Sign Language (ASL) with captions for the hearing. In this way, the audience travels on a first person journey through the Deaf world and culture. From ASL mistakes to common miscommunications, everyday life experiences of Deaf individuals is explored.

High Quality Trailer is available on the films webpage, as well as more information on the movie. Visit http://www.universalsignsmovie.com/

  1. I would love to see this indie film sometimes this spring (2008) at the DC Filmfest.

I did not see this film on the schedule for the DC Independent Film Festival this week, March 6-14th.

I am kinda surprised to see actress Margot Kidder (Lois Lane, Richard Donner’s “Superman”, 1978) being in this deaf film. Hooray to her!

Same thing with the former Desperate Housewives’ possessive and nosy mother-in-law for the Latino couple on the Winslow Lane.
