Since I am bored, I will actually fill in this page. You are welcome to comment, all ten of you that visited that one day!
This blog is primarily about captioned movies and videos, Equal Communication Access, accessibility, and communication technology.
Please leave comments often, as it will be an indication of how much captioning in movies and trailers is desired. I know that I will be looking for interesting things to share with our theatre managers, executives and the people who book our movies.

Me curious — where are you located in? I have no idea where you are.
Cheers,

The Great Midwest – Michigan!
The Great West Coast here, in Sunny California!
Hey Bill, thanks for your site,
God Bless,
Martin
Hmm, Michigan is called the “Midwest”? I guess I never thought about it. That makes me “Farwest” then?
I finally made it to your bvlog. I will make a point to peek in from now on. You are another movie buff? Oh, no, not another one!
From Lantana, who just got her power back after 5 days!
Farwest, also know as the “left coast” here in conservative West Michigan! ;^)
I do enjoy movies, but I also work for Celebration! Cinema theatres here in Michigan. The movie trailers are mostly of movies that our MoPix captioned theatre shows, but others by request!
You, sir, are worthy of much respect, honor, admiration, and kudos.
I cannot tell you how many times that I, as a movie lover, have had to interpret movie trailers for my Deaf family, movie lovers as well.
So, imagine my surprise to find out that you were essentially captioning videos on your own time/dime.
Your efforts are applauded!
Thank you so much for putting captions in the video about Marlee Martin in “Dancing with the Stars.” Not many of other websites have captions like yours. I wish they would!
Bill!
What’s hannenin’? Just stopping by to spread a little cheer from the southern 40.

You are providing an important aspect of access. Thank you!
Ah now I see where you live! Well anytime you’re around Texas (if you travel), mostly mid-South and East, check out the deaf events for Texas on DeafNetwork.com, one of my favorite websites. We are a lot hotter than Michigan so bring your shorts and swimsuits!
Also, in Michigan, there are 4 Deaf Coffee events. I don’t know if you know about those, but here’s the link. http://deafcoffee.com/html/michigan.html Maybe one of them are close to your hometown? Check it out and see, I’m sure they would LOVE to have you visit! We love all the people who come to our Deaf Coffee events, whether they are experts at signing or just beginners. Most people are very nice!
Thanks Laurynne! I go to the local RiverTown Chat, and you’re right. The deaf there are very friendly, and very patient (my signing is awful, and I’m a slow learner).
Just discovered this website – I’ll be coming back, definitely. Thank you so much for all the work you do.
Hi, Bill
Can you please caption/subtitle this great and very funny Monty Python “Dead Parrot” Sketch?
It’s only three minutes worth but guarantees a lot of laughs.
That one has to do with this article.
Thanks!
Would you be willing to share with us what tools you are using to do captioning? We are trying to make Massachusetts state agencies caption any videos they post on the web, but haven’t had very much luck in finding easy-to-use tools. (Unfortunately, motivation seems to diminish when it’s hard to do.) I’m commenting here because I was hoping to find this information here.
Thank you!
I blogged on it here.

Great job, Mr. Cresswell! Thank you so much for providing this much-needed and much-enjoyed service.

Hello Bill,
I enjoy visiting your web from time to time to view the latest trailers or posts. It is also a useful resource for captioning tools.
I wondered if you could also post links to subtitles resources. One such link would be http://subscene.com/ which offers subtitles for download to a computer. Some DVDs that are purchased or rented have no captioning or subtitles however it is possible to watch a DVD on the computer with a downloaded subtitle loaded into a media player.
There are numerous subtitles offered (in various languages too) and if you do a search you may find a subtitle to go with your DVD.
Interested readers may have to do a bit of research but the easiest thing to do is to go to the website (Subscene), click on Forum and look for the Tutorial which is titled “How to watch an existing DVD on your PC with external subtitles”.
Cheers!
Robin
You just did, Robin! I don’t post that, because I never download movies or watch them on tv or video (I work for a movie theater – I see all the movies I want to see when they come out!)
I don’t know what sites are good/bad.
I do recommend http://dvd-subtitles.com for finding out if the video you want has decent captions!
GO YOU! I support this 100%.
Hi Bill,
I love your blog I am a big fan and I would like to do a blogroll link exchange with you. Please email me your link and anchor text and I will add it site-wide to MovieTrailerTalk.com
Thanks,
Chris
Hi Bill, I’m from Hungary. I ‘d like to ask, how can I burn a subtitle (.srt) onto mp4 video? I have a website with trailers, and I’d like trailers with hungarian subtitle, but I don’t want to convert mp4 to avi, then burn with virtualdub, then convert back to mp4. It’s too complicated. Are there any ways to simply burn subtitle onto mp4 video file?
Thanks your answer and help in advance
Judy
I don’t do it myself, but a google search showed lots of results. However, if you upload your trailers to dailymotion.com or youtube, or dotsub, you can upload your trailers and insert the .srt files there.
Hi Bill. I am trying to find a way of contacting you. Please send me an email in reply to this post. I like your work and would like to chat with you
.
Bill, thank you SO much for doing this! I’ve bookmarked it and will be coming back often. I’m really glad you captioned Obama’s speech, in particular. Thank you!
I enjoy your captioning for these movie trailers so anyone whose are deaf and hard-of-hearing can enjoy with it.
Keep up good work, Bill!
Hi Bill, Thank you for the comments about my “Open Letter to My *Hearing* Friends” article. It is a pleasure to network with other individuals who have hearing loss and deafness, and I find your Web site fascinating. Blessings!
Hi,
